Crawfordsville – Gene Proffitt, 55, died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday April 13 at his home in Crawfordsville. Born Feb 28, 1938 in Crawfordsville, he was a 1965 graduate of Purdue University School of Pharmacy. Mr. Proffitt had been a pharmacist in the Crawfordsville and Lafayette areas. He married Linda Crawford Dec 27, 1958 in Flora. She survives. Mr. Proffitt was a member of Purdue University Alumni Association and Tippecanoe County Pharmaceutical Association. He served in the Navy from 1956-1960. Also surviving are three daughters, Sabrena Proffitt and Marena Jo Proffitt, both of Indianapolis and Jene Anne Proffitt of Crawfordsville. - kbz
